"Milton-Madison Bridge: History on the Ohio" Public Television Documentary

This 30 minute Emmy award winning documentary, commissioned by Doe-Andersion Public Relations in 2015, profiles the innovative engineering to replace a deteriorating Ohio River bridge joining Milton, Kentucky and Madison, Indiana. The Milton-Madison Bridge Project — a joint effort between the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet — has received numerous state and national engineering awards for innovation. Spanning nearly a half mile, the truss of the Milton-Madison Bridge made history in April 2014 by being the longest bridge in North America — and perhaps the world —to be slid laterally into place. Most importantly, the engineering methods saved the economies of both communities from potential ruin.

"A History of Kentucky in 25 Objects"

This 2014 one-hour, Emmy nominated program is dedicated to the proposition that history does not have to be frozen in the words of a textbook. Producer/Script Writer Barry Bernson chose me to shoot and edit "A History of Kentucky in 25 Objects". The project focuses on telling history through 25 items: each a monument to our endless curiosity about the Kentucky in which we live, and to our need to explore and try to understand it. Of course, this can only ever be “a” history of Kentucky, not “the” history.

"The Lake Bridges of Western Kentucky"

Premiering on KET-HD in July 2020, this 30-minute documentary explores the need and challenges to simultaneously replace two 1930s era bridges spanning Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley, two bodies of water that uniquely isolate the 170,000 acre Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area from modern life in western Kentucky. The new bridges are a vital link in the US-68/KY-80 corridor connecting the state’s far-western counties.

"Two Bridges One Project"
Public Television Documentary

This 2019 Telly Award winning and Emmy nominated program explores how Kentucky leaders and other stakeholders came together for the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project - a project that built two new bridges, reconfigured an urban labyrinth of merging interstates, constructed a tunnel under a historic-and-protected property, and created miles of new highways. The project took decades of debate and planning to get to construction and was completed in December 2016. In the history of Metro Louisville, there has never been a construction project more impactful, more expensive, and more unifying.
