My career has taken me to some unique locations and introduced me to a variety of fascinating characters

Rift Valley, Kenya 2004

My 15 years working for the national offices of the Presbyterian Church led to many journeys "off the beaten path", like this visit with the Maasai people.

CBS Sunday Morning Ted Koppel 2016

I've been fortunate to work with several of network broadcasting's finest journalists. Ted Koppel is the consummate professional, on and off camera.

Kentucky Coal Mine 2016

800 feet down and 2 miles back in a Hazard KY mine for a Fox Business story with longtime friend and collaborator Rob Honegger.

Kentucky Derby 150 2024

This CBS Sunday Morning story highlighted the updates to Churchill Downs preceding Derby 150.

Soviet Union 1990

Before the breakup of the Soviet Union, I joined my father, Jack Crowner, and other American agriculture journalists to tell the story of socialist collective-farm style agriculture.

South Africa & Zimbabwe 1998

Truly one of the highlights of my career – witnessing Nelson Mandela speak to the World Council of Churches and thanking them for supporting the fight against Apartheid in South Africa.

Southern Illinois Tornadoes 2012

Doing a post-disaster interview is always challenging. No one does it with more care and compassion for the victim than NBC's Lester Holt.

"Woody" Williams interview 2022

My favorite interview, ever. I was honored to spend some time with the last surviving WW2 Medal of Honor recipient for his CBS Sunday Morning profile. He earned his medal destroying machine gun emplacements during the Battle of Iwo Jima.

American Pharoah 2023

Here in Kentucky, the real celebrities sometimes have four legs. For this CBS Sunday Morning story, correspondent Jim Axelrod gets to know Triple Crown winner American Pharoah in Versailles, KY.

Maker's Mark Distillery 2019

Luckily, I get to make frequent trips to the home of my favorite bourbon to assist public relations firm Doe-Anderson create video news releases about new releases of Maker's Mark bourbon.

Egypt-Syria-Jordan-Israel-Lebanon 2004

Seeing the Pyramids of Giza was certainly a bucket-list moment on this trip documenting the peacemaking efforts of the Presbyterian Church USA. The journey also included painful moments while in dialogue with both sides of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Unfortunately, the situation has only worsened since then.

Ford Kentucky Truck Plant 2022

This shoot was special for two reasons: It included two of my favorite people - CBS Sunday Morning's correspondent Lee Cowan and cameraman Mike Hernandez. And, it was at the Ford truck plant where my late father-in-law Charles Kaufman worked for 30 years!

UPS World Port 2022

Louisville is home to UPS Worldport, which is their primary sorting hub for worldwide air shipments. For this project highlighting female pilot career opportunities, we chose a challenging spot for the 2-camera interview.

Infrastructure Reinvestment 2024

You might not know, but Louisville has the best tasting tap water in the country! I frequently get to help the Louisville Water Company share the story of how it uses technology to produce and deliver high-quality drinking water.

COVID Vaccine Campaign 2021

The look in this girl's eyes says a lot about how we all felt in 2021... exhausted from the pandemic. Although far from being on the front lines of the fight against the virus, I am proud of my contribution. Our team created over 100 video news releases for our Governor's campaign to dispel misinformation about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

Land Between the Lakes 2018

For some reason, I've produced more than my fair share of documentaries on bridge projects. The one about the Lakes Bridges of Western KY was one of my favorites. I highly recommend visiting the Land Between the Lakes... but not in the winter time.
